Times are changing, however the high standards of PJC are not. The Executive Board, all Coaches, Parents, Players, Cheerleaders, Poms and helpers must work together to keep the high standards that we have set. Everyone in this organization must always conduct themselves in a manner, which will set a good example of sportsmanship, self-discipline and self-confidence, which will not bring dishonor to Plainfield Junior Cats and The Chicagoland Youth Football League. Everyone must abide by the rules, nothing less can be tolerated. Plainfield Junior Cats needs to set an example for all others to strive for. Volunteering is KEY to the continuity of our organization. PJC is an organization composed entirely of volunteers, and that while helping out, you will enjoy working with other PJC Parents to make our organization successful to the point that you consider volunteering on a regular basis. Give it a try...it can be fun and rewarding!! And if everyone plays just a small part, we will all share in a feeling of great accomplishment. If you have any questions, please contact any of the Board Members or attend a PJC Parent & Board Meeting. These meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday evening of every month all year long starting time 7:00 PM at the Plainfield Police Department.

To instill in all our youth the importance of scholastic achievement, self esteem, persistence, teamwork and that anything is possible through hard work. Every year PJC offers a great opportunity to earn back the $75 fundraiser fee paid at registration.
This year the fundraiser will be done a bit different. In years past we have always handed the fundraiser information out at registration. With so many registration dates and the addition of online registration the fundraiser will now be distributed at equipment handout in July. This will provide everyone with an equal opportunity to sell the fundraiser and will no longer exclude anyone wanting to register online.
The fundraiser will only be distributed at equipment handout NO EXCEPTIONS this includes all football and cheer participants in-house or travel. You will be given two weeks to sell the fundraiser. Again, this is a great opportunity to earn back the $75 fundraiser fee paid at registration. After the two week sale period there will be a specific date, time, and place to turn in all completed forms. The pick-up date for the fundraiser is approximately two weeks after forms have been turned in. Exact dates and times will be posted on the website.

Q. What are PJC's age requirements? A. We welcome any boy or girl wishing to participate in PJC football, cheer or pom programs between the ages of 6 (1st grade) and 14 (8th grade) on September 1, 2010. PJC does not accept incoming high school freshmen regardless of age.
Q. What are PJC's fees? A. For 2010, PJC will charge the following fees to participate in any of our travel or in-house football, cheer or pom teams.
1st Child - $135.00 Registration Fee 2nd Child - $85.00 Registration Fee 3rd and on Child - $60.00 Registration Fee
Additionally, every participant accepting a travel cheer, football or pom opportunity will be charged an extra $25.00 to cover the additional uniform costs associated with our travel teams.
Each registrant is also charged a $75.00 Fund Raiser Fee. This fee (or some portion of it) is returned to the family as orders are collected. A $15.00 Park District fee per participant will be collected at registration. This fee is non-refundable.
Q. What are PJC's residency requirements? A. There are none. We welcome families from outside the Plainfield Park/School District. Basically, if a family thinks Plainfield is close enough, it is.
Q. What equipment will we need to participate in In-House or Travel Football? A. PJC provides each player with shoulder pads, mouth piece, girdle and girdle pads (hip and tail), thigh and knee pads and game jersey. Further, Travel players are provided game pants (that must be returned at end of season). Each player will be expected to provide a white NOCSAE certified helmet, White pants, shoes and a practice jersey. Cleats on the shoes should be rubber, not metal screw in. Practice jerseys can be any shirt big enough to cover the shoulder pads. At the end of the season, each player will be required to return their shoulder pads. The game jersey and other equipment is the player's to keep.
Q. When is the last date a football player can sign up? A. All football players are encouraged to register before the last scheduled registration date to ensure a spot. Any player who signs up after May 3rd will be put on a waiting list in the order the application was received.
Q. How do I sign up to coach? A. On the application there is a section to volunteer as a coach, each person who signs up will be contacted and asked to attend a meeting to discuss the philosophies of the organization. We will also require each coach to attend a NAYS coaching certification. In addition we require each coach to fill out a release to allow us to run a background check.
Q. Why don't you have a sibling rule? A. We do. All children who sign up for PJC can participate. We do not turn any children away. We believe that all children develop at different stages of their lives and we would not want to knowingly place a player in a division just because his sibling was skilled enough to play there. Our number one priority is safety and development.
Q. If a player made travel last year why isn't the player automatically on a travel team this year? A. Because each child develops at a different pace, we want to ensure the player is placed at a level where they will receive maximum playing time to further enhance their skills. In addition our community is growing at a rapid pace and we believe each child who signs up for PJC should be given an equal opportunity to participate at his or her skill level. Remember our philosophy is inclusive not exclusive.
This is just a reminder that there are absolutely no alcoholic beverages allowed on the park district property. Just so you know the police department will be enforcing this very strictly. Anyone caught by any PJC board member or coach will be asked to leave the premises. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter. (THIS INCLUDES PRACTICE, GAMES, PEP RALLIES, AWAY GAMES, OR ANY GATHERING ON PARK DISTRICT PROPERTY.)
