 Dear PJC Family,
We would like to congratulate our Heavyweight Premier and Middleweight Premier Football players for their Super Bowl victories in November and our Featherweight Premier for their Super Bowl runner up!!!!! Congratulations to our Premier, Elite and MAC10 travel teams, as this was the first year since joining the TCYFL that all travel teams made the first round of playoffs. Our 8th Grade Bowl was again a huge success, having two lightweight and two heavyweight teams!!! Our In-House and Travel Cheer and Pom teams had another successful season with each and every team giving their all every time they stepped out on the football field!!! Congratulations to our Bantam, Featherweight and JV Cheer Teams along with our Feather/Middleweight Pom squads who earned 1st place, with JV Cheer scoring in the top 5 of the entire event at the competition held in November! JV and Varsity Poms brought home 2nd place and Middleweight Cheer, Varsity Cheer, and Bantam Poms received 3rd place. Great job and fantastic effort by all! Thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm all season long. In 2010, we are proud to announce numerous changes; the first being the structure of our cheer program. An evaluation of the existing program, along with the enrollment per grade level, has made this restructuring a necessity to ensure we can keep the cheerleaders of similar age/grade level together on teams while giving them the opportunity to cheer for football teams with athletes of similar age/grade levels. For the first time ever, In-House cheer will be limited to grades first through third. Our fourth through eighth grade girls will all tryout and be placed on the appropriate Travel Cheer and Pom teams. This change to the program is necessary due to the declining participation in our cheer and pom program. The second change is the restructuring of the lightweight and heavyweight football divisions. With the change in weight restrictions two years ago, we have had a difficult time fielding enough teams with the appropriate amount of participants on each team. In 2010, we will be entering each heavyweight and lightweight team in the TCYFL PAC 10 division. Although we will ensure each team in Plainfield has an opportunity to play each other, we will also have games scheduled against teams in other communities. This change will require some traveling for games throughout the season and will offer a playoff structure at these two levels. Please keep in mind that although there have been changes to our cheer and football programs, there will still be a team for every participant!!! For the third year, we are forced to limit the number of participants in the program at the Mighty Mite through Middleweight levels. All registrations are on a first come, first serve basis. If you wish to participate, please sign up early!!! As much as we love to continue to serve all who wish to participate in the PJC program, space is limited!!! Online registration opens February 1st!!! We hope you had a joyous Holiday Season and a Happy New Year. We look forward to another fantastic, fun and safe football and cheer/pom season in 2010.
Sincerely, Your PJC Board
